Elif Shafak, the author of Rivers in the Sky, is a genius. The amount of information she wove into an unforgettable saga about three characters in different times and places all linked by water, the lack of, or flooding, is astounding. Water is more precious to me than ever as a result of reading this novel. I have learned so much.
