MASTER: the movie
I’m not saying I recommend it. In fact, I heard the audience grumbling, but it’s compelling and filmed beautifully., this underbelly of a Scientology-like cult. Joaquim Phoenix pitted against Philip Seymour Hoffman is cuticle-biting tense. Warmng: Form follows funtion. The movie, like the cult itself, creates a claustophobic gravity that will make you squirm.

Yes, I agree the acting between the t wo of them was intense. The rest left us grumbling.
