Is GONE GIRL (the movie) spoiled by having read GONE GIRL, the novel?
I knew the secret of what happens when Amazing Amy, writer Nick’s Dunne’s wife, goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary from having read, no been glued to Gillian Flynn’s novel, Gone Girl, so I was thinking of skipping it. But the author, having written her own screen adaptation, made, I think, all the difference. What a film! We expect greatness from Ben Afleck , Tyler Perry, and Neil Patrick Harris, but Rosamund Pike as Amy should be at least nominated for an Academy Award. And Carrie Coon as Nick’s twin sister for best supporting actress. Fincher (director of Fight Club) wrung incredible performances out of everyone. Hold onto your armrests! You’re in for quite a ride!
