CARMEN at the MET
What stage set and performances in Sir Richard Eyre’s production of Bizet’s CARMEN. Would you know it, as the Toreador Song, the popular aria “Votre Toast, le peux vous le rendre” was being performed, I heard my dead mother singing to the tune, “Floray-a-door-ay/ Don’t spit on for floor-ay/ Don’t spit on your sister, Floray-adore-ray.”
How I wish my mother hadn’t made up her own lyrics to songs! 🙂
