MODERN FABLE
I told my 10-year-old grandson, Isaac, about a couple who, trying to recover from a life disappointment, wanted a cat. They both had allergies. An allergist recommended a Siberian Forest Cat. After getting one, they fell in love with it, but the couple both ended up on inhalers. The cat, being a hunter, was so cooped up that he became lethargic and obese. He looked like a furred doorstopper. I asked Isaac, “What’s the moral of the story?”
He said, “Love is a powerful but dangerous force.”
