THIS IS HAPPINESS by Niall Williams
Set in 1958 in a small, sleepy town in Dublin that doesn’t even have electricity yet, 17-year-old Noe Crowe, the narrator, makes the drollest observations about his grandparents and other characters. Whatever he describes, even the horse flies that seek shelter in his home, is a revelation. I’m listening to it on Audible to get the dialect. I am sure after this I will want a suspense book, but I am so enjoying the innocence of this clever boy. (aka. the author)
