Role Reboot wants submissions
Want to submit your writing to Role Reboot for publication?
We are most interested in essay-style, first-person narrative storytelling and cultural critique about current events from folks who are rethinking “tradition,” breaking through stereotypes, and bucking expectations about their roles.
Essays should address our core themes of “rebooting” expectations around family structures, marriage (and non-marriage), sex, relationships, parenting, and all things culture and politics, through the lens of gender, race, class or sexual orientation (and ideally, more than one). Submissions should be between 600 and 1,200 words and include relevant hyperlinks to referenced articles or studies, and be written in a colloquial tone, avoiding inaccessible or academic language whenever possible.
Please submit your writing as a Word document to our managing editor, Meredith Landry, at meredith@rolereboot.org, and include a short author bio (2-3 sentences, max) to run at the end of the piece, should we choose to publish it. We review all submission as quickly as possible (usually within a week for evergreen pieces) and will get back to you if we want to publish your piece.
