Aretha Franklin, Amazing Grace
What a glorious way to spend Easter with Aretha’s music raising my spirits and raising the spirits with her gospel singing. One of the most moving parts for me was when her father stepped up to mop her face and brow with his handkerchief as she sang. It was such a tender and intimate gesture, one bourn of immense love and respect. Having an earthly father like that would make it easier for a person to extend the feeling to a heavenly father.
